I know what you are thinking, but it’s only July!! Why is she writing about Back to School?! You also know August will be here before you know it and you will wonder why you didn’t prepare sooner!
I remember waaay back when my kids were going to school. I had love-hate feelings about the first day of school. I’m sure many of you have those same love-hate feelings!
You love that you will have more time to yourself. You can go shopping and be in and out of the store in 15 minutes. You can read a book without having to reread the same paragraph over and over again. You can eat your own lunch instead of finishing the kids leftovers.
You hate that you HAVE to get up and get everyone ready by a certain time. The kids MUST be in bed by a certain time otherwise that whole getting-everyone-ready-by-a-certain-time-in-the-morning thing goes right out the window. You NEED to have dinner on the table by a certain time because the kids have homework to finish and baths to take.
All those carefree unplanned days of summer are gone.
Ahhh but how quiet the house is. How clean everything stays. Ohhh but how you suddenly wish the kids were home! You feel that? There’s that love-hate feeling!
How about a couple of hints, tips, tricks for making back to school less painful? Get organized before the stress takes over. Pick up a few school supply items every time you hit the store. Or better yet, don’t worry about shopping for school clothes! The kids go back to school in August. It’s still hot out. What’s wrong with them wearing the shorts and shirts they’ve been wearing all summer?
Here’s what I used to do. I would buy one new outfit for school. You will have their current sizes because of this new outfit. Then, when everyone is back to school, go shopping for their clothes by yourself! Genius!
Susie will be so excited to have new clothes. You will be excited because there wasn’t an argument about color choices because Susie never had the chance to see all the colors to choose from! Maybe back to school won’t be as bad this year!
Want to make school clothes and school supply shopping easier? Shop online! Go to Walmart.com or Amazon.com and have the kids pick out the outfits they like. You can have them delivered right to your door! Or, if you prefer to pick them up at the actual store, order online then pick them up in person. While the kids are in school!
I’ve done some of the prep work for you. Amazon has some great supply kits already put together to make things even easier! Between choosing one of those bundles and a backpack, you are almost done! Check out more links for back to school supplies here.
